Orientation for a Client (10 Minutes)
- Point out the parts of the system
- Main Camera
- TV
- Microphone
- Before the Session
- Adjust the camera so they can be seen clearly by other side
- Instruct them to speak clearly, in a normal voice
- Let them know about the transmission delay. Instruct them to wait for a response and not to interrupt
- Let them know how long the session will be and what time you will be back to the room
- Tell them where you will be, so that they can find you if they have any difficulties
- If in a multi-point session:
- Show them how to mute and un-mute the microphone to avoid unwanted noise during the session
- Getting them started
- Tell them you are going to un-mute the microphone and get started
- Introduce them to the far site
- Help them to start talking if necessary (instruct them to “Say hello”)
- Tell them how to contact you if they have any difficulties
- After the Session
- Obtain feedback on how they felt telehealth worked for their session and what could be done to improve their experience
