Implementing Wound-Care Best Practices in Yukon

Yukon’s Chronic Disease Management Advisory Committee has endorsed a plan that will see Yukon adopt and implement British Columbia’s province-wide best practices for wound care.

A best-practice, evidence-based system of wound care management will help support the standardization of wound care and product usage across Yukon’s health-care system. Wound prevention and management are among the most direct and cost-effective measures a health care organization can take to improve patient safety and quality of life.

Yukon’s skin & wound community of practice features the following:

Objective

To build on your clinical expertise using best practices for wound care, to improve patient safety and quality of life.

Mission

To reduce the physiological, psychological, and the fiscal burden of wounds throughout Yukon by building clinical expertise using best practice guidelines for wound care.
