Whitehorse Health Centre supports the Yukon Tuberculosis (TB) Program. TB is caused by bacteria (germs) and is spread when a person with TB disease of the lungs coughs the germs into the air.
Whitehorse Health Centre provides TB screening for;
- school entrance requirements,
- volunteers, and
- self referrals.
Clients who require screening for immigration, a doctors’ referral or any TB concerns or questions can contact TB Control at Yukon Communicable Disease Control (YCDC) by calling 667-5080.
You can find information about prevention, symptoms, treatment, and testing at www.hss.gov.yk.ca/tb.php.
