YTG Youth Justice
In Yukon, Youth Justice falls under the umbrella of the Government of Yukon, Health and Social Services, Family and Childrens Services Branch. There are four main programs within Youth Justice:
Youth Probation: Youth Probation provides support and supervision to youth, families, victims and communities through a detailed case management system to ensure compliance of YCJA court orders. Youth between the ages of 12 to 17, who have pre-charge and post-charge involvement with the justice system, may be supervised through programs such as Extrajudicial Sanctions, probation, community court orders, and custody and community supervision orders. In Yukon communities, Youth Probation services are provided by regional social workers.
Youth Probation is located at: 305 Lambert, Whitehorse, YT, Y1A 1Z5

Youth Achievement Centre (YAC): YAC provides day and after-school programs that promote trust, respect and responsibility in youth at risk and youth under the direction of the justice system. Their day programs include education outreach, fitness and nutrition, woodworking and other life skills programs. After-school programs include Arts Night, pottery, teen parent and child nights, and sports nights for young men and for young women. Anger management, drug awareness and self-esteem programs are also offered through YAC. In order for a young person to attend a YAC program, a completed referral application must be submitted.
