Individuals who self-identified to participate in Phase II of consultation have been sent draft amendments and a copy of the current RNP Act for comment. If you wish to be included in this phase of consultation, here is the consultation package:

For your ease in reference, amendments pertaining to the licensing of nurse practitioners (NPs) are contained in:

· Section      1 – Interpretation

· Section      7(1)(g.1) – Regulations

· Section      13.1 - Authority to practice

13.2 - Nurse practitioner practice advisory committee

13.3 - Recommendations of the committee to be considered

                    13.4 - Nurse practitioner practice

· Section      14(2) - Restricted titles

Also, Section 22 has been included to address the duty of employers to report.

For compiling purposes, we request that all comments provided in Phase II be submitted electronically, where possible, and clearly specify the section to which you are making reference.

Responses will be received no later than 4PM on April 2, 2009.

Regulations for nurse practitioners are still under development and have not been included in this consultation. Unless you indicate otherwise, you will be included in consultation on the draft regulations when they become available.
