The Honourable Pauline Frost was elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the general election of November 7, 2016. She was sworn into Cabinet on December 3, 2016 and currently serves as Minister of Health and Social Services, Minister of Environment and Minister responsible for Yukon Housing Corporation. A Vuntut Gwitchin citizen, Frost has represented the Vuntut Gwitchin Government and the people of Old Crow in numerous professional capacities and at various levels of government.
Frost has worked for Vuntut Gwitchin Government as its negotiator, Intergovernmental Coordinator and senior official for the past six years. She served as President of the Vuntut Gwitchin Limited Partnership, Chair of the Yukon Salmon Sub-Committee, and sat on the Air North Board. Frost has also participated as an active board member on the Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association.
Previously, she has worked as the Director of the Yukon First Nations Self Government Secretariat, which was mandated to provide leadership and direction in the design of effective governance, communication, human resources and financial support for the 11 self-governing Yukon First Nations.
Frost was born and raised in Old Crow, and left the community to attend high school and further her education. She spends her time between Old Crow and Whitehorse, raising her two children with her husband, Roger.
Still deeply connected to her Gwitchin culture, Frost continues to practice many traditional activities. Furthermore, she deeply cares about the social wellbeing of her community and is often volunteering to give back to those in need and the youth of the community.
