Immunization information

Immunization is the best way to protect yourself and your family members from many of today's diseases.

The Yukon's Immunization Program offers a wide variety of free vaccines for infants, children, youth and adults.

In Yukon communities, please contact your community health centre for immunization dates and times.

APPOINTMENTS ARE NEEDED FOR:

Travel consult:

  • If possible 6 to 8 weeks in advance of your travel date.

Child health visits:

  • Assessment of growth and development, and information about maintaining your child’s health, which may include immunizations.

Breastfeeding clinic:

  • Meet with a Lactation Consultant.

DEDICATED DROP-IN HOURS ARE FOR:

  • Follow-up travel immunizations
  • Routine immunization updates
  • TB risk screening for employment or education requirements
  • Annual flu shots

Grade 6 School-based immunization

The Yukon Immunization Schedule recommends that Grade 6 students receive: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) immunization

Grade 9 School-based immunization

The Yukon Immunization Schedule recommends that Grade 9 students receive: Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) booster and Meningococcal Quadrivalent immunization.

TB testing is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00AM to 8:30AM and 3:00PM to 4:30PM.
Please Note: TB Testing for education, employment and treatment programs is available at the Whitehorse Health Centre at the hours listed above. TB testing for other purposes is done at Yukon Communicable Disease Control at #4 Hospital Road in Whitehorse.
