Immunization Catch-Up in Yukon Schools
The Arctic Winter Games are coming to Whitehorse this winter. Hundreds of athletes, coaches and volunteers will arrive in the territory, bringing with them the potential for an outbreak of disease. At the same time, our visitors will be vulnerable to an outbreak initiated from within our population.
For that reason, nurses will be in Yukon schools starting in September to offer catch-up immunizations to students from grades 6 to 12. These free immunizations will protect students from:
NOTE: Nurses will offer the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) immunization to Grade 6 girls only.
