Hearing Services

Provides diagnostic audiological evaluations, hearing screenings, hearing aid evaluation and dispensing, hearing aid repairs, and assistive listening devices to the general public (children and adults) upon referral from a doctor or other service provider.

Services include: 

  • Hearing assessments
      - diagnostic audiological evaluations
  • Hearing screenings 
      - for school entry or pre-kindergarten children
  • Hearing aid evaluation and dispensing
      - purchases
  • Hearing aid repairs 
      - available without referral
  • Assistive listening devices
  • Custom earplugs for swimming or working in noise

Also provided:

  • Drop-in for hearing aid and assistive listening device repairs
      - available daily from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m (no referral required)
  • Macaulay Lodge, Thomson Centre, or home visits to clients with restricted mobility
  • Monthly impedance screenings
      - conducted at Child Development Centre to monitor children at risk
  • Public workshops and in-services to other professionals
      - In-services, workshops and public education on a variety of topics
