Head Start Program
The Head Start Program matches participants with training or employment opportunities in the community that are well suited to their goals, skills and interests.
The Employment and Training Services program (ETS) is one of many components of Social Supports Branch programming.
ETS provides a range of training and vocational services and supports for adults who have employment barriers. These include but are not limited to:
- vocational assessments;
- goal setting and planning;
- enhanced case management supports;
- employment placement supports;
- and wage subsidy incentives.
The main goal of the program is to match participants with training or employment opportunities in the community and within the Yukon Government that are well suited to their goals, skills and interests. The intent is to assist the participant in developing and enhancing new skills and learning opportunities, while also meeting the workforce needs of the employer.
Recruitment for the Head Start program is coordinated through the Department of Health and Social Services. To find out how to take advantage of this program, contact the Employment and Training Services offices of Health and Social Services at (867) 667-5674.
