To: Residents on Private Wells Located near the Liard River, Watson Lake
The following advisory applies to residents on private wells located near the Liard River, Watson Lake. This advisory is issued as a precautionary measure to protect public health in the event that a private well (water source) has been impacted or is likely to be impacted by the flood waters.
To safeguard public health, residents who have private wells that have been or are likely to be affected by rising waters in the Liard River in the Watson Lake area are advised to:
Bring water to a rolling boil for at least two (2) minutes prior to using it for;
- drinking,
- preparing food,
- beverages,
- infant formula,
- ice cubes,
- washing fruits and vegetables, or
- brushing teeth.
This advisory is in effect until further notice.
