Every year the prevention unit offers a series of addiction related training for “allied professionals”. Workshops offer education, skills and to help understand everything from historical and moralistic attitudes, cultural, psychological and social reasons for substance use.

The Prevention Team aims to convey up to date information in a way that fosters a conversation to demystify substance use issues.

As prevention consultants it is our job is to help you to develop addiction prevention programming in your community. We will work with you in your community to provide addiction related training, consultation, and capacity building. Collaborating and strengthening capacity so that an individual or group may identify and realize aspirations to satisfy needs and to change or cope.

Allied professionals can borrow resources from the library to help them in their addiction prevention programming or initiatives. We are always open to guiding you through the library and consult you regarding your resource needs.
