Clerk Typist/Receptionist
In anticipation of upcoming vacancies, the Department of Health and Social Services is now accepting resumes for clerk typist/receptionist positions.
As a clerk typist/receptionist, you will provide services to clients and staff by providing receptionist, clerical and administrative support. Duties include responding to inquiries from the public, preparing correspondence and filing.
As the ideal candidate, you are an outgoing, energetic and a self confident individual who shows tact and diplomacy when dealing with a variety of people orally or in writing. You are flexible, able to work effectively alone as well as in a team environment, and can manage a large workload with frequent interruptions while continuing to meet deadlines. If you have the necessary training and/or experience for this position and are interested in working within a health and social services team, we are interested in hearing from you.
Please submit a current resume clearly demonstrating the following qualifications:
* Certificate in Office Administration or related field
* Experience performing administrative, basic accounting, and reception support in an office setting and
with the public
* Experience with word-processing, using Microsoft Word is essential.
Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will be equally considered.
NOTE: THIS IS AN AUXILIARY ON – CALL / CASUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY.
Such employees may be assigned to different offices to provide temporary coverage of permanent staff for absences due to illness, vacation, peak work periods, etc. There is no guarantee of work hours and assignments may vary in length. We will be maintaining an applicant inventory from which we will consider candidates as assignments become available. As an auxiliary on-call, you must be available for work with short notice. These inventories are maintained on a continual basis and applications will be actively retained for one (1) year.
